Esteban Polanco, is a farmer, educator, and a symbol of the environmental struggle in the Dominican Republic. He is the president of the Federación de Campesinos hacia el Progreso (FCHP), a coalition of associations located in the upper watershed of the Yuna River, representing approximately 700 families across 24 communities.
