Álvaro Tukano, known as Doéthiro, is one of the most important Indigenous leaders and thinkers in Brazil. He plays a fundamental role in shaping the Indigenous movement that began in the 1970s and continues to this day. Traditional Kumû and Bayá, he is also Kasike (chief), author, and teacher, keeper of the wisdom of the Yepã Mahsã (Tukano) people.
